Blue Bay is situated on 30 acres of palm trees and white sandy beaches. The rooms are all nestled under the trees with sea breezes sweeping through the rooms cooling them down in the heat of the day. Day 2 - Zanzibar Meals: B D
As the sun rises on your first day in Zanzibar the sounds of the waves instantly reminds you that you are in paradise. Breakfasts are freshly prepared with the best seasonal fruit, and of course eggs and bacon come as standard when you’re on holiday. Long walks along the beach is one way to work of breakfast, as well as a swim in the sea. Sunbeds are available all over the resort so find a quite shady spot and enjoy a good book with the best view around. Lunch can be enjoyed right on the beach or on your sunbed so you don’t have to move at all. Afternoons can be spent napping or swimming before the sun starts to set and it’s time for an evening sun downer.

With so much history on the island you may wish to explore further. Stonetown is a 30 minute drive away and here you can explore fish markets, local shops and take the famed spice tour. Stonetown is bursting with colours and excitement. The people are friendly and you will get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life there. After a morning exploring, you can make it back to the resort in time for lunch. Cold meats and salad are perfect in the midday heat. After lunch a shady tree is all you need in order to have a good afternoon nap. Later in the day when it's cooler, the sea is the perfect place to escape to before evening drinks on the veranda overlooking the beach.

Day 4 - Zanzibar Meals: B D
Being on the beach is a blessing when it comes to activities. The resort can easily arrange sea based activities. One of the more action packed is big game fishing. You will start early in the morning and be taken out on a fully equipped fishing boat with expert skippers. Depending on the time of year there is lots to be caught mainly on a ‘tag and release’ system which still means to get the full adrenaline experience. You can choose to either be out for a full or half day excursion. A great idea for the travellers with strong stomach!

Day 5 - Zanzibar Meals: B D
The Blue Bay resort has an in house spa that you must make use of during your stay. Couple massages, facials and general pampering are on offer here. You can choose to spend the whole day here or just a few hours before you race back to your sunbed and a cool drink. Zanzibar has some of the clearest waters you will ever see. So a great afternoon activity would be to go snorkelling to see what little fish you can see. After an exhausting afternoon a cool drink and a comfy sunbed is the perfect end to the day.

Health and vaccinations:

You should speak to your health provider about what vaccinations you will need for your trip to Tanzania. In addition, most doctors recommend taking anti-malarial pills for your visit and following measures to avoid being bitten by mosquitos, such as covering up exposed arms and legs. Lodges will provide mosquito nets over the beds.
If you take any medication, be sure to bring it with you, as well as details of your prescription.
We advise all travellers to take out comprehensive travel insurance before their trip.
